The short answer
Permanent lighting is designed to stay installed for years, but no single number can predict the life of an entire system. LED-module ratings, power supplies, controllers, wiring, installation quality, operating hours and weather exposure all matter.
Understanding a 100,000-hour rating
Wise offers LED modules stated to be rated for up to 100,000 operating hours. At five hours per night, 100,000 hours is an arithmetic equivalent of about 55 years of use. That illustration is not a promise of product service life, and the exact meaning of the rating depends on the manufacturer’s test definition.
LEDs usually age gradually
An LED can gradually produce less light over time rather than switching off at one exact hour. Other components have separate service lives, and individual parts can still fail unexpectedly.
Installation still matters
Clean cable routing, protected connections, correct power planning and serviceable component placement all contribute to a system that is easier to maintain over the long term.
